Citing a Wikipedia article

To cite a Wikipedia article, you will need to know basic information including the article title, last modified date, and URL. Remember that since Wikipedia is an informal source, your teacher may advise against citing it.

Citing a Wikipedia article in MLA style
Put the title of the Wikipedia article inside quotation marks and italicize it.

Include the most recent month, day, and year of publication. Insert “In” before Wikipedia.

Citing a Wikipedia article in Harvard referencing style
The title of the Wikipedia article is set in sentence case and enclosed in single quotation marks. Use “Available at:” before the URL. Include the accessed date inside parentheses at the end.
