To create an editorial reference or citation, you will need to know the title of the editorial, title of the newsletter/journal, publication year, volume, issue, and page.

Citing an editorial in MLA style

Set the title of the editorial in title case and enclose it in double quotation marks. Set the title of the journal in title case and italicize it. If it is obvious in the full citation that the source is an editorial, you may omit “Editorial” at the end of the reference. Precede the volume number with “vol.” and the issue number with “no.” in the full citation.

Citing an editorial in APA style

Set the title of the editorial in sentence case. Set the title of the journal in title case and italicize it.

Citing an editorial in Chicago style, Notes-Bibliography

Set the title of the editorial in title case and enclose it in double quotation marks. Set the title of the journal in title case and italicize it. Precede the issue number with “no.”

How to cite an editorial in Harvard referencing style

The title of the editorial should be sentence case and enclosed with single quotes. The title of the journal should be title case and italicized.
