Citing a dissertation in MLA style
Set the title of the dissertation in italics.

Citing a dissertation in APA style
Set the title of the dissertation in italics and type it in sentence case. Insert “Doctoral dissertation” and the university’s name between square brackets after the title in the Reference list entry.

To cite a thesis in APA format, use the core required elements: the author’s name, publication year, thesis title, thesis details such as degree and name of awarding institution, database/archive name, and/or URL (if not from a database).
